Borderlands (film): Director calls strange reasons for the flop

Borderlands, calls, director, film, flop, reasons, strange

There are no excuses or other interpretations: the Borderlands film was a huge flop and never did justice to the series. The reasons are diverse, but the director Eli Roth has now delivered a few interesting arguments. Some of you should not share this among you.

The Borderlands film not only fell through the critics last year, the strip also flopped terrificly. To quote my colleague Basti from his review of the Borderlands film: “Too bad that the authors are not as concerned with the template in terms of dialogues and humor as the set designers and costume designers did.

But according to Eli Roth, the director of the strip, the failure is not due to the lousy script or a lack of acting. Rather, Zoom and Corona pandemic are responsible for the problems for him.

At first he did not participate in the Borderlands film until the end. Instead, Tim Miller (Deadpool) took over from a certain point because Roth was already working on his next project.

This caused some self -doubt: “And I still know that I thought … I got to the point of my career where I sit down to see my own film, where I say that I have written and directed it, and I really don't know what will happen?”

The circumstances with Lionsgate were also catastrophic. Due to the corona pandy, the work processes had to be changed: “I think none of us suspected how complicated things would be with covid. Not only in terms of filming, but also on the filming, and you have six people who are all at different sets, and each of these sets is closed because the cities have been opened, and now there is a covid outbreak, and it was just like that.”

“We could not prepare in a room together, I couldn't be with my stunt people, I couldn't make any previous visits, everyone was distributed all over the place. You couldn't prepare a film of this extent via zoom, and I think we all thought we could do it, but we were hewn a bit.”
